Community Connections

LAKESHORE MEWS
I would have to say that the most precious connections I have made here in Barrie, Ontario are with Awkward Stage and Le Petit Chapeau. Both Alana Sproule and Meaghan Armstrong have been both supportive and inspirational as I begin my journey as an artist. Beyond being my studio neighbours, we are working hard as the Lakeshore collaborative to bring programming to the mews during culture days and deliver workshops throughout the year. I definately could not have done what I have without these two special ladies.
Art For Love

Art for Love was a not so real TV Arts Competition, to be held in Toronto – a Canadian counterpart to the American Bravo series 'Work of Art'. Working with visual artists of all mediums, the show was supposed to be housed in the art space House of Moments during the month of February 2012. My interview resulted in me making it into the top 18 on the second day of interviews. The top ten were announced later in November by a panel of judges.
The winner of the competition was going to receive: A $25,000.00 cash prize, an exclusive art exhibition (Toronto), and a full marketing package (Including but not limited to: design and launching full online marketing campaign [website, social network, etc.], artistic branding opportunities, print (Toronto Life, Now Magazine) and media coverage.
In that none of what was promised has happened, let's just chalk it up to up another great idea not coming to fruition.
