Material Witness was an iteration of my MFA exhibition that investigated the environmental, social and psychological shadows of the textile industry. Using different textiles to create graphite impressions on paper, I was able to see how things and the materials of today will be the fossils of tomorrow. Bad Ideas was an installation that came out me reflecting on the number of ideas and amount of materials that are discarded when developing an exhibition or research. Rather than throwing out all the preliminary sketches, lists, writing drafts and other scraps of paper used to flush out ideas, I dipped them in plaster and paint to create sculptures.
