Welcome to The Refusarium! Evolving from my UN/making Methodology, this archival project is deeply grounded in maintenance art, walking as a creative method, and waste as a colonizing force. Tackling today's throw-away culture, this community-engaged project involves physically walking Canadian and distant shorelines to harvest discarded remnants of global industrial capitalism. By meticulously sorting out white single-use items—such as plastic straws, coffee cup lids, Styrofoam fragments, and industrial debris- and placing them inside a gallery setting, the work draws on the power of the "white cube" to transform detritus into authoritative museological displays that highlight how environmental harm is deeply intimate, everyday, and enduring.
