PAPER
My passion for paper comes from its long, human history and its quiet adaptability. Carrying centuries of thought, labour, and touch, it also remains endlessly open to reinvention. My bodies of work below celebrate how paper has been used as a substrate for drawing and painting due to it ability to hold a line with clarity and intention, as well as offer subtle resistance that guides the hand. Beyond the flat plane upon which I write, cast shadows, or collage, I am also interested in how paper folds, crumples, bends, and transforms into form. This balance between paper's fragility and strength lends itself to more intimate experiments and endlessly expressive.
