Just one of my many investigations into UN/making as a creative act, BOTANICAL MONOLOGUES are a series of mixed-media collages generated from reconfiguring old paintings, drawings, prints and other works on paper to arrive at new compositions that celebrate the agency and effect of botanicals on human and more-than-human beings and their networks. Particularly inspired by the writing of Natasha Myers about the need for creative practitioners to bring forth the Planthroposcene through one's praxis, these two-dimensional works are complemented by other explorations in which I work directly with plant bodies and their materials to create empathy and repair.
