Walking as Creative Inspiration - Walking and Writing Workshops with Jill Price

Join exhibiting artist Jill Price for three different workshops that explore walking as a method of research and creativity. Drawing on the senses of sight, smell, and sound, each summer workshop will begin with a walk along Barrie’s Waterfront to observe, collect and reflect on materialities that greet you. Short readings will be provided, helping participants playfully arrive at individual and/or collaborative narratives that creatively document that which was collectively encountered.

Keepin' it Blue: Cyanotypes for Culture Days with Jill Price

Sponsored by the City of Barrie and in partnership with the MacLaren Art Centre, come be a kid again and create your very own Cyanotype. An extension of my exhibition at the gallery entitled From There to Here: Walking for Tomorrow, participants will use different objects I have collected during a series of local beach cleans, visitors will be invited to create playful prints on handmade paper that Price created from beach waste.  As an eco-friendly alternative to traditional photo-processing techniques, stick around to see how the sun exposes images and watch how the water further develops what you dreamed up!
