Featured as part of the 2018 Toronto Design Offsite Festival (TO DO) at GravityPope, Material Witness, is a body of drawings and altered ready-made sculptures in which I reflect on my role as a maker and consumer within the Anthropocenic age. Acknowledging the agency of material and immaterial things, I was considering the causality and impact of fast fashion as well as the shadows of the fashion industry that have a way of shifting, lingering and reconfiguring over, in and outside of measurable increments of time. While moving back and forth between the collapsing and inflating of matter, these collaborative drawings with fabric provide insight into cycles of production and decomposition.
